TO "jklp" the previous person who left a review for Indian Palace. YOU NEVER EVEN WENT TO THE PLACE. You cannot leave a review for a restaurant because you had a communication problem. I just went today with 3 of my friends for the Lunch Buffet. It was 12:45pm when we arrived there and they were packed. Thank god I made a reservation. The food was not like other Indian buffets, I guess they are from a different part of India, but it was REALLY GOOD. The service was OK, nothing amazing. They seat you and you are off to help your self. Half the time I would wave down the waiter to fill my cup with water, as I like my food spice :) The butter chicken was really well made. The nan was also really well made. these are the main items I eat from an Indian buffet. Then most importantly the dessert. I would say I have had better desert, but theres was pretty good. I rated this place a 5 not a 4, because the price was also good. In total (tax included) it was $12.xx so for approximately $12 it was an awesome deal. The food I would rate 4 out of 5. Service I would say is 4 out of 5. Price is 5 out of 5. I think you should check this place out, it was much better than Buffet Monimahal at 164 Laurier Ave. AND DO NOT GO TO Curries Indian Restaurant at 114 Gloucester Street during BUFFET. I don't know how the menu is, but the buffet was REALLY REALLY BAD. I guess because no customers really go there, so it just sets there all day. I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? I went to this restaurant with 3 of my friends during lunch time on a Sunday. This place is always busy...so I thought they must be good. I was not feeling too well, so I didn't want to order, but my 3 friends all ordered food. I only wanted to sip on hot water to get my stomach back to normal. The food was normal, nothing special my friends said. Basically just like home cooked meals, you or your mother can make at home (or father :)) BUT to my surprise they charged us an extra $2.99 I asked the waitress what this $2.99 is all about, and she said it is a sharing fee. BUT I DIDN'T EAT anything. So I called the manager over and he said it is a sharing fee that anyone that doesn't order any food has to pay. I explained to him that I am not feeling well and didn't eat. But he didn't care and said if I don't like TO NEVER COME AGAIN. Can't believe he said that to me. I guess they already make so much money, they don't care if they lose 3 or 4 customers. So we paid and all decided to never go there again. I do not recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Were to start. I went here with a group of 8. It was my wifes birthday and her friends birthday. That is why we had a large group. We drank a lot and ordered a lot. The drinks were GOOD and the food was GOOD, that is why I was able to give this place a 2. The reason I only gave them a 2 is because they are not able to handle more than 2 people orders. It toke them 2 hours YES 2 hours to get us just appetizers. WE WERE STARVING at this point, so then we thought the main dishes would come shortly after appetizers, but NO. It toke another 2 hours to get the main dishes, and 2 of our guests never even received the MAIN dish. When we complained to the manager, he told us that it is impossible it toke 4 hours to get the main dishes. BASICALLY called us liars. When he actually came to our table and looked at our orders he started to come up with excuses that we are too many people blah blah blah. WE WERE ONLY 8, I don't understand how a restaurant the size of KINKI ... which is 2 floors, can't handle a group of 8. So what happened we asked for the after 9pm special, which would entitle us to 10% off our total bill. HE SAID NO, even so we got our food at 10pm, but we actually sat down at 8pm. So because we ordered before 9pm we are not entitled to it. By the way this place is SUPER expensive. Each of us owed over $80 EACH so they are making a killing off this poor service, and not even a lot of food. We were still hungry after finishing. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE as they are rude, and have super poor service. If you really want to go, do not go with a group larger than 3. Even then I STILL SAY DON'T GO.
