I was offered a job at Bellas and was located and still working as a chef in Montreal. I proposed doing a brunch there and they wanted this to happen. The job and the salary i had asked for was approved by the management/owners. I left my job in Montreal, moved to Ottawa, started working and created the brunch menu with items that I had on my menu when i owned and operated a restaurant here in Ottawa. After the first run of the brunch my next shift began and i was pulled aside to told that they couldn't afford to pay me the wage they had agreed upon, and was offered a much much lower hourly rate. Since i spent quite a bit to move here and get settled i had no choice but to accept the offer for now with the intention of looking for more employment. When i stated ok i will accept the offer i was then told that there was no place for me. If this is the way people do business then they should not be in business. I have yet to be paid and yet to receive my separation slip from this establishment. I have 30 years experience and red seal, have ran and operated food and beverage departments in 5 new york hotels, so i know it wasn't from lack of experience.
I do not recommend this place.
