As with the previous review, the haircut was great and it was what made me come back for a colour and highlighting. I was told it would be around $130.00. I told the "master" stylist (his words, not mine) what I wanted, and even showed a picture. He assured me that he could reproduce the colour minus the affect because my hair was shorter. During this visit, and the first, all he talked about was how great he was, and how bad a haircut I had (not to mention the colour). As he constantly built himself, up, he put down what he viewed as a "shoddy" job of my previous hairstylist. During the second visit, he worked on my hair for 3 mins, and then passed me to his assistant. He then worked on (I am not exaggerating... a minimum of 5 other customers). When the base colour resulted in a much darker colour with barely any blonde highlights (I asked for caramel and lot's of blonde), he was angry and insulted that I told him (nicely), that it wasn't what I had hoped for and could he possibly add more highlights. Well, he did - but very begrudgingly and practically ripping the "wax paper" out of my hand. He treated me like a leper and then to add insult to injury, he charges me $230.00 for a job he assured me would only be $130.00. When I balked at what essentially was a double-billing, he insisted that I was in the wrong and that next time, I should explain myself better. I then told him there would be no next time and he then proceeded to tell me that he never wanted to see me in the salon again. I couldn't believe it. I almost didn't pay, but could imagine him sending the police after me. He told me I had done nothing by "insult" him in front of his customers. I was very gregarious and understanding. This guy has an ego the size of New York city! I am planning to write a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. Please beware!!! I do not recommend this place. Was this review helpful? To be fair, the haircut I got here was very good. It was well cut, and it lasted a long while. The reasons why I rate Perfection so poorly was that the service was appalling, and the haircut wasn't actually what I wanted! After leaving me with the clearly embarrassed assistant for about 15 minutes whilst he talked on the phone, the main stylist got around to cutting my hair. I knew exactly what I wanted and just wanted to ask for confirmation that this cut would suit me. He told me that I didn't realise how much hair he'd be cutting off (umm... ok), and left it longer than I wanted it, and he wasn't at all interested in talking about the style with me, let alone make recommendations. Whilst he was cutting my hair he answered his phone the whole time to talk to people about the apartment he was selling. When he wasn't on the phone, he talked constantly about how he'd revolutionised the Ottawa hair scene, and how the Ottawa women all had the same haircut before he arrived.... he then styled my hair so it looked ridiculously fifties with a massive flick, so the first thing i did was run home and wash it out! At the end of all this, he charged me 50 dollars rather than 40 because it's 10 extra when you request the manager- this despite the fact I'd phoned for the appointment and said i didn't mind which stylist i had- if i'm going to pay 50 bucks for 30 minutes of someone's time, i want someone whose mind is on the job!! Definitely not recommended. I do not recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |
