My husband and I booked a romantic getaway at this small, family run hotel, after a friend of ours recommended it. Location is terrific, so close to all amenities. The heritage building has tremendous charm. Rooms have a lot of character and they are very clean and superbly maintained. The owner displays a great sense of pride in her property and goes out of her way in many ways to accomodate her guests. There is a sense of warmth you get from staying at a small establishment that you cannot ever get from staying at a brand name hotel chain. We stayed at one of the suites and had a great time. Buffet breakfast was terrific, it will keep you going throughout the day and set you off to a great start. The breakfast in bed we received on one of the mornings was even better :). We felt truly pampered. Courtyard garden at the back of the Inn was very pleasant in the morning and afternoon. My husband was amazed at the business amenities available at the hotel (a large boardroom with full conference and technological amenities). He is considering organizing an upcoming business event at the hotel. We may have been fussy and demanding guests in some ways (we required additional towels, had problems setting up our wireless, needed access to fridge after hours), but Sabina and her staff exhibited exemplary patience and hospitality. We were very much impressed and will definitely stay at this B&B when we come to Ottawa again.

My husband celebrated his milestone birthday at this lovely place. Sabina was wonderful in helping with my surprise for him - she recommended a terrific pastry shop just down the street for an amazing cake and helped me with selection. When we checked in, the cake was already stored in the fridge in the kitchen. One of the staff brought it to our room shortly after we got into our room, complete with lit up candles and chilled champagne. A friend recommended this place for a getaway, and now I understand why. I loved the heritage building in stone, the location, tastefully appointed rooms, luxurious bedding, the service we received from the owner and her staff. We had tickets to see a show and Sabina was very helpful with directions. She had many recommendations for restaurants and lounges and we were very pleased with the places she helped us select for dinner and drinks on both evenings. My husband is never completely offline with the kind of business he's in, so high speed wireless Internet in all rooms was a very nice touch. Breakfast is absolutely terrific, both in quantity and quality. I loved the bedsheets, they were very soft and silky. You rarely see that kind of quality linens in hotels nowadays. My husband was very much impressed with flat panel TV - from what we understood all rooms have those. We loved lounging by the fireplace in the large conference room/dining room at the ground floor in the evening. Having our coffee and breakfast outside in the courtyard garden was a treat as well. I haven't tasted such great coffee since our vacation in Europe. The Swiss muesli offered every morning with breakfast were out of this world. Next time we come we will book ourselves into one of Sabina's suites, which come complete with a large jacuzzi and a fireplace. Probably the only downside of this place is the fact there is no elevator, as hotel is in a heritage building. It wasn't an issue for us, but it may be an issue for people travelling with a lot of luggage or for elderly travellers.
